On a cold, wet and misty West of Scotland morning, families of HMS Audacious waited patiently to see their loved ones return home after a successful deployment.

HMS Audacious has been deployed overseas for 403 days when she returned to HMNB Clyde. By far, the longest deployment carried on by an RN Astute calss submarine

Although the crew could rotate, when possible, there were crew members who completed the whole deployment.

They have missed all family birthdays, Christmas Celebrations, New Year festivities, anniversaries, family holidays and important family milestones that have happened since the 6th of February 2022.

There was a homecoming celebration for all families in the WO and senior rates mess to welcome the crew home.

Families enjoyed musical entertainment, Children’s entertainment, and a delicious pussers scran.

All ships companies and families have endured a huge deployment and we thank every single member of our family for supporting each other through this challenging period and being part of this historic and emotional moment.

We hope you all enjoy your thoroughly deserved time back together. The RN have had your family long enough this time.
