Thomas Edward Andrews was born in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire on 18 June 1924, the son of Henry and Lottie Andrews. It is not known when he joined the Royal Navy or submarines. He is reported to have from died from injuries sustained in an accidental fall from a train, near Warrington, Lancashire. Commonwealth War Graves records list him as a member of the crew of HMS SUNFISH.

Thomas Andrews is buried in St. Michael’s Churchyard at Brierley Hill in Row No. 3 Grave No. 15 which is sited south of the Church.

NOTE.  Two brothers were also lost in the War, they were a Petty Officer lost in HMS VETERAN and a Private in the South Staffordshire Regiment (2nd Airborne Battalion) who was killed in Libya. Another brother was a prisoner of war.
