Raymond Hutchins was born on 3 July 1951, the son of Mr & Mrs Ernest Hutchins of Colliery Road, Meadow Road, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He joined HMS COURAGEOUS, 1st Commission Crew, on 16 October 1971. He was lost overboard from the bridge in heavy weather off Barra on 5 December 1972.
