Sadly, Chief Mechanician (E) Gerald ‘Gerry’ Osgood of the crew of HMS OTUS died on 26th October 1963 in a road traffic accident in Helensburgh around the time of the submarine’s commissioning. He is reported to have served in HM Submarines: ANDREW, SEA SCOUT, SANGUINE, THULE and OTUS.
