Henry Ricketts was born on 11 November 1894 at Willesden, Middlesex, one of eight children of Henry and Ann (née Scudder) Ricketts of Willesden Green, London. In 1915 he married Dorcas Elizabeth Heppell. Their son William was born in July 1916.
He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial Panel 28 and on the war memorial at Laira, Plymouth .
