Leo Sangster was born at Brentford, Middlesex on 25 March 1894. He was the son of Harry Sangster and Ellen Annie Sangster (née Richardson) of Thomas Road, Chiswick. In the London Gazette dated 30 October 1917 he was one of those mentioned in despatches ‘…in recognition of their services in submarines in enemy waters.’
He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial Panel 29.
