HMS UNIQUE (Lt R E Boddington) sailed from the Holy Loch on 7 October 1942 to patrol in the Bay of Biscay en route to the Mediterranean. She detached from her escort off the Scillies on 9 October but was not heard of again. The cause of her loss remains unknown.
