Jack Blissett was born on 6 December 1896 at Boscastle in Cornwall and joined the Royal Navy on 15 September 1909.  In 1914 he was serving in HMS KING EDWARD VII as a Midshipman.  He was appointed to HMS DOLPHIN for submarine training on 8 November 1916, followed by appointment to the submarine depot ship HMS ADAMANT ‘for submarine E14 as First Lieutenant’ on 1 February 1917 and promoted to Lieutenant on 1 November 1917.  

He died on 28 January 1918 when HMS E14 was sunk in the Dardanelles, and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval War Memorial Panel No. 28.
