Isaac Veal was born on 18 November 1874, the son of Joseph and Francis Veal of Lyndhurst, Hampshire and husband of Maud Veal, of Myrtle Villa, Queens Road, Lyndhurst.  He died of pernicious anaemia at Shotley Barracks on 11 April 1918.  He is buried in Lyndhurst Cemetery.
