Charles Bailey died from burns received in accident board HMS K26 under construction in Chatham Dockyard.  An explosion in the boiler room occurred while tests were being made to the engines, and he and another workman were enveloped in steam.  Charles Bailey died a few hours later and the other man later in hospital.
