Alfred Beeny was the son of Herbert and Catherine Matilda Beeny, and husband of Eileen Muriel Beeny, of Gosport, Hampshire.

He joined the Submarine Service in 1928, serving on various boats, including HMS SNAPPER as an EA1 in 1939/40. He was drafted to HMS VERNON as an A/CERA, and committed suicide in February 1942.

He is commemorated at Brighton (Woodvale) Borough Crematorium.
