David Boniface was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire on 3 February 1966. He joined the Royal Navy as a Weapons Electrical Artificer Apprentice at HMS FISGARD in Torpoint, East Cornwall, as a member of No. 831 Entry. Details of ships and submarines in which he served after qualifying are not available but, by 2012 he had been promoted to Warrant Officer 1 (Weapons Electrical Artificer) and was serving in HMS DRAKE – the Royal Naval Barracks in Devonport.

David Boniface is reported to have on died 10 December 2012 and is known to have been suffering from cancer. He was the husband of Michelle Boniface and the father of Liam.
