CPO Conway had a long period of sea service in submarines from 1986 until 2012, in HMS WARSPITE, UPHOLDER, TALENT, TRENCHANT and TURBULENT. 

He died in his sleep on 12 May 2018 while serving in HMS SULTAN where he was a professional Divisional Officer for Part 2 Engineers.

Paddy is remembered with a gold poppy on the WRS 2019 pin.   His funeral in HMS Drake was attended by Flag Officer Submarines, Rear Admiral John Weale.
