George Cooke was born in Brighton, Sussex on 23 April 1888. He entered the Royal Navy at HMS St VINCENT in 1904, subsequently serving in the armoured cruiser HMS DUKE OF EDINBURGH. He joined submarines in 1913. Commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial Panel 11.
