James Crombie was from Billingham, County Durham. He was injured fatally when a car in which he was a passenger hit the embankment, careered along the road and overturned trapping both he and the driver inside. The accident occurred on the Arrochar-Garelochhead road at Morlaggan.
A passing motorist managed to free the trapped men but James Crombie died on the way to hospital. He is buried in the Faslane Cemetery in Grave L22.
