Peter Davison was born on the Isle of Wight on 11 November 1922. He joined the Royal Navy as an Engine Room Artificer Apprentice for a five-year apprenticeship. No details are available for his rating or wartime service. He was promoted to Commissioned Engineer on 1 February 1950 and was appointed to the Submarine Depot Ship HMS FORTH in September 1950.

In January 1953 Peter Davison was appointed to HMS TALENT as the Engineer. He was further promoted to Senior Commissioned Engineer on 1 October 1955 and was appointed to HMS AURIGA as the Engineer. In the 1958 Navy List he was recorded as an Engineer Lieutenant (seniority 1 October 1955) serving in the Submarine Depot Ship HMS ADAMANT and this was followed by an appointment to HMS GRAMPUS as the Engineer (see January 1960 Navy List). His next appointment was to the Staff of the Director General Ships as detailed in the Autumn 1964 Navy List. Promotion to Engineer Lieutenant Commander came on 1 April 1965 and an appointment to HMS DOLPHIN followed.

Peter Davison is reported to have died in the Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar on 19 October 1967. The reason for his death is not yet established. His Next of Kin was listed as his wife Elizabeth Ann Davison of, Fareham, Hants and he is buried in the Haslar Naval Cemetery in Plot B 41.7.
