William Dempster was the son of George Hardie and Martha Jolm Dempster, of Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa.
His brother was a Wellington navigator, flying out of Malta, and was also killed.
William Dempster is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Panel 67, Column 2.
