Albert Goodbody was born on 21 January 1889 at Hoxton in East London. He was the son of Thomas and the late Rebecca Emily Goodbody and lived at Haggerston. Before joining the Royal Navy in 1913 he was a tram conductor. He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial Panel 23.
