Keith John Goodwin was born in Leicester on 22 January1925, the son of John Henry Goodwin and Edith Lillian Goodwin. After serving in HMS PROTEUS until it was decommissioned on 30 June 1944, John Goodwin was attached to HMS BRONTOSAURUS – the Combined Operations Base in Argyle. He died from Asthenia (general weakness) and acute encephalitis on 23 November 1944 and is buried in Gilroes Cemetery in Leicester in Section G Grave 36
