In January 1955 it is believed that he was one of a draft of Canadian Navy personnel (four Officers and one hundred and eighteen Ratings) who arrived at HMS DOLPHIN ‘for Submarine Training’. By April 1958 he had been in the Navy for six years and was a Leading Seaman serving in HMS SERAPH.
Roger Grundy is reported to have been killed in a motorcycle accident in Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, on Saturday 26 April 1958. His Next of Kin were listed as Mr & Mrs John Turner of 20, Waverley Avenue, Hamilton Beach, Ontario. It appears he also had two half siblings – Janice Margaret Turner and Kenneth Brian Turner.
