Henry Haggis was born in Barking, Essex on 18 May 1896. He left for Australia in April 1919 when HMS J7 was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy. He succumbed to Spanish Influenza on board the depot ship HMAS PLATYPUS on 7 July 1919 and is buried at Thursday Island Cemetery, Shire of Torres, Queensland, Australia.
