Roy Harris was born in Bristol, Gloucestershire on 23 August 1923, the son of Henry and Alice Elizabeth Harris (née Pitman). Roy Harris, who had been serving in the Submarine Depot Ship HMS ADAMANT, is reported to have died on 4 January 1944 from malignant cerebral malaria in HM Hospital Ship TJITJALENGKA.
Roy Harris of 24, Axbridge Road, Knowle, Bristol listed his mother as his Next of kin. He is buried in Trincomalee War Cemetery in Grave No. 2.C.4.
