Robin Meyrick was the son of Michael and Jocelyn Meyrick. He joined submarines in 1966 and served in HMS RESOLUTION. He completed the Commanding Officers Qualifying Course in 1969 and took command of HMS OPOSSUM on 12 November 1969.
He died on 3 February 1971 of a heart attack whilst the submarine was entering Portsmouth Harbour. He was the husband of Vanessa Meyrick (née Meares).
