Harry Pearson was born on 4 January 1886 at Northallerton, Yorkshire, the son of John and Margaret Pearson.  He joined the Royal Naval Reserve on 16 November 1914 at HMS PEMBROKE after which he served in the armed merchant cruiser HMS OROTAVA where he was rated Chief ERA on 1 January 1916.  He commenced submarine training at HMS DOLPHIN on 23 April 1917 from where he was drafted to the depot ship HMS ALECTO for service in HMS H10.

He was married to Amelia Pearson and lived at Redcar, Yorkshire.  He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
