Peter Roberts, otherwise known as Radcliffe, was born on 12 December 1991, and attended Holyhead High School. The head teacher paid tribute to the former pupil. He said: “He was a very popular young man, who was much liked and respected, and will be missed by staff and former pupils alike“.

At an inquest on 26 April 2013, the coroner recorded a verdict that Peter Roberts had killed himself.  He had hanged himself in a lower level machinery space while HMS VIGILANT was at sea, enroute from Faslane to Georgia, USA, and his body was found by a Senior Rate doing routine rounds.

He is buried in Maeshyfryd Holyhead Cemetery in Section 5 Number 427.
