Edric Rosendale was the son of William and Mary Rosendale.  He joined the submarine sevice on 7 November 1940. He joined HMS MEDWAY in December 1940 at Alexandria. At that time HMS TRIUMPH was just arriving in Gibraltar.

Edric then spent five months working in MEDWAY, waiting to be drafted to an operational boat. He was drafted to TRIUMPH on 5 May 1941, but did not actually join her until she arrived back in Alexandria on 12 May at the end of her 14th war patrol.

Edric Rosendale died when HMS TRIUMPH was lost with all hands having apparently struck a mine in the Aegean Sea.  He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Panel 68, Column 3.
