Sidney Webb was born on 11 April 1891 at Bournemouth, Hampshire, the son of James Samuel and Annie Webb, later of 14, Highcrown St., Highfield, Southampton. He is commmemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial Panel 20 and on the war memorial at Highfield Church, Southampton along with his half brother, Private Walter Thomas Webb of the 11th Bn, The Hampshire Regiment, who was killed in action on 29 March 1918.
