Terence Padgett was born in Dewsbury, Yorkshire on 13 June 1938. It is not known when he joined the Royal Navy or submarines but, by September 1966, he was a Leading Steward serving in HMS AMPHION based in Singapore.

It is reported that Terence Padgett of 52, Westdale Grove, Southcoates Lane, Kingston upon Hull, died in The General Hospital in Johore Bahru, Malaya (now Malaysia) on 5 September 1966 as the result of an accident – although details of the accident are not known.

Terence Padgett was the husband of Patricia Padgett (née Greenley) – they were married in the 2nd Quarter of 1960 – and he was the father of Debra, Alan and Andrew.
