HMS
E26
(1915
-
1916)

HMS E26 (Lt E W B Ryan) sailed on 29 June to patrol in the vicinity of Terschelling. On 2 July, a German lookout post reported seeing a long trail of oil, apparently coming from a submarine. On the following day, HMS E55 operating nearby heard dull distant explosions which could have been an attack on E26. She was listed as lost with all hands on 6 July 1916 in the North Sea, cause unknown.
