HMS

TRITON

 (1937

 -

1940)

HMS TRITON (Lt G C I St B S Watkins) sailed from Malta on 28 November 1940 for a patrol in the Southern Adriatic.

On 6 December, an SOS was received from the Italian MV Olimpia of 6000 tons, in TRITON’s area. It appears that TRITON made a successful attack and was possibly counterattacked or may have fallen victim to a mine. She was overdue at Malta on 18 December and listed as lost with all hands from that date.
