Families gathered earlier today on Rhu spit, Argyll and Bute to welcome home their loved ones after a successful SSBN patrol.

The submarine has been deployed for an undisclosed number of days, somewhere in the world under the sea ensuring the UK’s continuous at sea deterrent is upheld.

The Royal Navy has successfully delivered CASD for 53 years and 2 months, and continues to do so.

Now it time for the submariners, their families and friends to enjoy a well-deserved homecoming and spend some quality time with each other.

Submariners’ families endure several months of no contact, while running family homes, bringing up children and building their own careers. They have worked extremely hard and deserve this special moment just as much as those extraordinary men and women who have been deployed.

Enjoy everyone….YOU ALL DESERVE IT
