Following on from yesterday’s report the Master Colin Gurley, and the IPM Chris Walton arrived safely in Barrow-in-Furness to visit the home of BAE Systems where three of the Royal Navy’s latest nuclear submarines are currently in varying stages of being built.
We are pleased to announce that the Loriners has agreed an affiliation with the first of these – HMS AGAMEMNON – a nuclear strike submarine, which is due to launch early next year.
A very warm welcome was extended by Commander Daivid Crosby RN – Commanding Officer of HMS AGAMEMNON (pictured below together with a number of his key officers).
Commander Crosby is seen holding a special Loriners Silver Coin, presented by the Master, to commemorate the visit. The coin is to be found a permanent home on the submarine.
